Why is American Taliban John Walker Lindh asking Bush for a pardon?

I saw that he is asking Bush for a pardon, which got me to wondering.... aren't pardons something that only infidels do?

He wants out of jail and probably doesn't take his religion that serious anymore after it got him into all this trouble.

because like all Presidents bush is going to be handing out pardons.

so.. no harm in asking

after all - he has nothing to lose.

I think he should be pardoned and released in a big ceremony at ground zero and left there with no protection and no money and no clothes. let street justice take its course.

Good point, Bill.  Perhaps Lindh sees Bush is willing to pardon his cronies who participated in terrorizing Americans with their fear campaign to push non-related agendas.  These people hurt Americans a lot more than a confused kid ever could.
