Why is Apple charging for the iPod Touch and iPhone updates?

i mean there are alot of teenagers who can't buy the updates,

  1. The iPhone doesn't get charged for updates only the iPod Touch. Remember the whole Enron scandal? Well that (and others like it I think) cause a new law to be passed called the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

    It's an accounting law thats a bit over my head, but it essentially breaks down to: If something is subscription based that product can gain updated features and the cost of that is part of your subscription. To add new features to an existing product there has to be a price associated with it.


  2. if you buy the new iphone then you get the update free and if you can afford and iphone or an ipod touch you can probably afford 10$
