Why is Art Monk in the HOF?

He's in the HOF becuase his name was on the ballot and a lot of people obviuosly voted for him... that's what happened to everyone else that is in the HOF

Art Monk was one of the greatest WR's of all-time and don't worry about Cris Carter because he will be inducted eventually.

Art Monk only won 3 superbowls with the Redskins. And not to mention he was an ABSOLUTE gentlemen and great embassador of the game. He should have been in YEARS ago and it's great that he's finally where he deserves. Chris Carter nowadays SHOULD have been a first-ballot hall of famer, but come on man. You have GOT to admit Monk was an unbelievable player for his time.

First-round pick by Washington, 1980 NFL Draft. . . Caught 58 passes to earn All-Rookie honors, 1980. . .Had 50 or more receptions, nine seasons. .Gained 1,000 yards five times. . .Set then-NFL records for catches in a season (106), most consecutive games with at least one reception (164), and career receptions (820). . .Finished career with 940 catches. . .Named to three Pro Bowls. . .All-Pro choice twice. . .

And he did that when they really didn't throw much when he came in. So that's why he deserves to be in the hall of fame. Hope that clears a few things up.

Is this for real? Art Monk was the best of his time. It wasn't until later that his records got broke. But the league turned into more of a passing league. So of course his numbers will fall. But he is one of the best of all time. He should have been in a long time ago.

because monk got screwed 8 times. monk was a great ambassador to the league. who else gets a 4 minute ovation that he had to stop. he is a great person and deserved it just as much as chris carter, if not more
