Has anyone else ever noticed how in many movies the rich person in them will always be driving an Audi. I noticed this back in 2001 watching Legally Blonde because honestly I really don't see Audi's on the road. As far as expensive cars I mostly see BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, etc. Audi is a hit or miss.

Then recently watching Iron Man, Tony Stark drives an Audi.

Why is Audi the movie "rich" car? Why isn't it on the road more?

I see many doctors, lawyers, etc driving every other kind of luxury car but never an Audi

I asked someone about Audi's years ago and they said Audi's use to be real popular like Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, etc but there was some recall on something and their average popularity went down.

  1. it might be harded to get insurance on an audi.... and the movie producers dont need to worry about prices

  2. Audi used to be very popular with their quattro system until early to mid '90s when most of their car had issues with reliability.  Though, they made a big come back in late '90s with A4 targeting BMW 3 series market.  They also did very well with A6 and A8.

BTW, James bonds used toyota, lotus, BMW, and Aston martin in their movies.  Bad boys use Porsche and Ferrari.  There're also tons of MBs in many movies.

  3. Audi spend more money on PRODUCT PLACEMENT.

It seems where you live makes a difference. Here in NYC, we often see Audi (I own an Audi).  But when visited So Cal, I bares saw any Audi (and very few Honda Civic)
