Question:

Why is Beijing still called Peking in Germany?

Watching the olympic coverage, I notice that despite the "Beijing 2008" signage everywhere, the tv hosts always refer to Peking. I thought that this city's name was officially changed some time ago. They do the same with Myanmar by referring to "Birma". Strange?
