Why is Bob Barr not included in the debates?

I just noticed Yahoo's headline about Obama and McCain having three debates. Why is there no mention of the Libertarian party or Bob Barr participating? Is he not invited? I think Americans have the right to hear from all the candidates.

If you are not familiar with Bob Barr or the Libertarian Party, you should check them out. http://www.lp.org/

  1. Face it folks until someone can bring together enough people to make the other candidates think they might have a slim chance of wining. The top candidates  will not include them in their debate. Why give them free air time?

  2. Because we all know realistically speaking, Bob Barr doesn't stand a chance to win.

  3. The LP's aren't mentioned because, if you're the press, you don't want to give them credibility, and of course, the two candidates from the Republicrats don't want anybody stealing their thunder. They also don't want more Americans to know that the LP is a viable, third alternative to the same ol same ol that they've been giving us for years.  Another reason is, if the American people WERE allowed to see Bob Barr in a debate, and find out that the ideas of the LP are NOT as wacko as the main media want you to believe, they'd all abandon the Republicrats.

  4. I don't particularly like Bob Barr, but I agree with you wholeheartedly - he, Cynthia McKinney, the guy from the Constitution party, etc. should all be included.

Of course, the main stream media only likes to focus on the horses it thinks have a chance of winning, but that kind of turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy, doesn't it?
