Why is Brandon Phillips so underrated?

Brandon Phillips is a great player. I hate him though because he hits so good against the Cubs.

Well with a .275 batt average thats respectable, that is a good question

I would say because he plays in Cinci...a small market team

Mainly because he's a Red, and they don't get much attention anyway. And when they do its either about Adam Dunn, Jay Bruce, Ken Griffey, Edinson Volquez, and how stupid they were to trade Josh Hamilton. If he played on a big-market team like the Red Sox, he'd definitely get noticed.

he has good numbers but he plays in a national league that has power second baseman like utley and uggla who overshadow all of 2B offensive stats

he also plays for the reds, who are having a sub-par year and have been centering on Griffey Jr. gettin to the 600 HR club..so its tough for a good player to get noticed when there is alot of blocks in front of him

I don't know much about him because I dont like the Reds. But anyway, Brandon Phillips is like 27 and he's still young. If he was pitcher, I think he'd be more noticed.Give it some time and if he's all that good, people will know him.

I notice him being a Reds fan, I doubt he gets much hype with the outside media. He went 30-30 last year (30 home runs 32 stolen bases) which is awesome for a second baseman. I don't think you'll see Uggla or Utley ever go 30-30. He is the best all-around second baseman in the league bar none.

Although I do agree he's underrated.But hey,it's better than being overrated.
