Why is Bret Favre on the cover of Madden 2009?

I mean I'm hardly a Madden Fan (still miss the NFL2K series kicked off by Sega's Dreamcast) but why the h**l is Bret on the cover of Madden '09? He doesn't deserve it! The crybaby QB has cried his way onto Yahoo's front page for the past several months and is now the front shot for the most popular football game? His team couldn't even make it to Super Bowl! What happened to my boy Eli? PUT ELI MANNING ON THE COVER!!! Bret doesn't deserve it. Good QB but didn't do enough to deserve it.

I bet John himself is the one who requested he be on the cover - any football fan knows how much John is on Bret's jock each and every time he gets to commentate a Favre game. Get over him Madden! You should've put a Super Bowl QB on the cover!! Heck even Plaxico Buress would've been a more reasonal choice : /

It was suppose to be a tribute but then he came back and john madden loves brett favre and if it was up to him he would be on it every year

Brett Is on the cover because he is the best quaterback of the NFL. They came darn close to getting in the superbowl. HE DOES DESERVE IT!
