Question:

Why is Brett Lee's action "illegal"?

A number of ppl contributing here have mentioned that Brett Lee's action is illegal and is a "cheater" (don't you love baby talk). It is a matter of record that his action was questioned early in his career but was subsequently cleared by the ICC. He was also criticised for a number of beamers he delivered in 2005.

I for one do not believe there was ever a problem with his action even before the 15 degree clarification or that the beamers were intentional. It is for mine a very good action from a fine athlete who is now starting to come into his own as the spearhead of his national team.

This is your chance to justify your accusations with fact not innuendo.

  1. I think there's too much slow-motion analysis of bowlers these days. If it looks alright to the naked eye let it be.

  2. It's mainly a statement made from one "effigie burning" segment of the world.

No educated, intelligent person would believe that Brett Lee  has a dubious action.

Fear has a way of creating such reactions.

  3. i think its fine yar

  4. And if you look at the people who are 'claiming' his actions are 'illegal' i think you will find it is mainly the Indian supporters.

I think it is a complete joke T.B.H...

We had him on a programme earlier this year,he was all wired up and they went through his bowling actions, they must have scrutinised hundreds of his deliveries..

People are just jealous because the best fast bowler in the world belongs to Australia..

They need to get a life and scrutinise their own players performances before commenting on a world champion bowler...

  5. No ofcourse not....his action is not illegal and like you said he is a perfect athelete and his beamers and all were unintentional like...Sachin said that.."I know Brett very well...he won't do anything like that"...When he himself has said something like that I don't know why the other people make up stories saying that his actions are illegal and all that sorts!!!

  6. Yes, this p----s me off! I said in answer to an earlier Q that an expert had recently claimed Brett's bowling action was bio-chemically almost perfect, & that wasn't an Aussie expert(I think he was English) This is just something certain people on here want to keep going because it suits their purpose to denigrate Australians. I think you will find that 9 out of ten users here admit that Binga's action is legal. It's just OZ & his cronies who say otherwise. I'm glad you brought this up, let them provide evidence or shut the h**l up.

  7. he must be illegal in cricket soon

  8. What?   !!! ........................................... .Daniel Craig that was funny answer

  9. Dude, he chucks in Cricket 07 too.

  10. his action is not illegal

  11. If Brett Lee's action is illegal, then so every other bowler's action is illegal!! There is nothing wrong with his action!!

Edit: I agree with Bingalee!! Brett Lee's action is perfect!! He generates so much pace with such a really good action!! If u ask me, i think Praveen Kumar looks a little dodgy to me!! (btw, i support India)

  12. Brett lee's action is illegal but australian cricket board never ban his own player

    they always complain asian players

like shoaib akhtar, murlitheran, shabir ahmed, and many more
