Why is British Airways flying the union flag UPSIDE DOWN?

On the front page of Metro 26 Aug the flight attendant is flying the flag upside down. As the airline had a slogan 'Fly the flag' is it not offencive for the national airline to fly the national flag upside down

  1. no british airways ditched the slogan that they were the 'british flag carriers' and Virgin Atlantic took over and now claim themseleves to be flying the flag for Britain. So it really doesnt matter about BA cuse they are c**p anyway and in cahoots with BAA.


  2. its only upside down in the northern hemisphere where did you see it?.

  3. Is it possible the photo was printed backwards?  Happens sometimes.

  4. Flying the flag upside down is a signal of distress. It could be a print reversal - sometimes when ads are put together, the photos go in the wrong way around. Other than that, why not ask British Airways? They have a web site. Or ask Metro to explain their front page picture.
