Its like May and June has July and Augusts weather. March was kinda wet but was very cold. April was kinda like it is now.

Why is it like this?

I think the hotest summer I can remember was Summer of 05, but i might be wrong.

  1. have you not heard of climate change?

  2. I know!! What happened to global warming??? Aren't we supposed to have nice hot summers? Snow in April aswell

    x*x

  3. summer 03 was the hottest on record for 500 years! not sure why the weather fluctuates a lot but it may have something to do with the geographical location of the uk

  4. Remembering that we British are somewhat obsessed with the weather, in the same way that the French are with their livers and the Americans are with their teeth...we have highly selective memories when it comes to recalling weather.

Most people used to fondly recall the balmy summers of their childhoods in the 30's, 40's and 50's, yet records showed those years to not be above average.

Similarly, many remember the summer of 1976 as being one long heatwave.  In fact the following year had more hours of sunshine.

The weather you are describing is both normal and even usual!  We are brought up to expect certain weather at certain times, but like snow at christmas, those expectations are rarely met.

  5. This is what it is like at this time almost every year. Remember Wimbledon and Glastonbury always having problems with rain after a long sunny spell.

Every year my mates say the same thing and I remind them of this fact. They all say ... "Oh yeah"

  6. The Island of Britain [Breten] is subject to the vagaries of Atlantic Weather and since the wind is usually in the South West or West, this means a lot of Atlantic water gets sucked up and dropped on us.

In West Wales for example, they get about 88-inches of rain each year.  Meanwhile, here in Sunny London-upon-Thames, we get about 23-inches of rain each year.

The most likely rainy periods here in UK are the Winter and Austum months [September - April].  However, if insufficient rain has fallen over a given period of time, the Atlantic weather systems will 'catch up' and dump rain on Ireland and UK through and on into the Summer - June, July and even August.

  8. Its because they're trying to prevent global warming. Looks like they're succeeding!

  9. Global Warming,   I think they were looking at the forecasts charts upside down

I think it should be Global Cooling.
