  1. No one really knows.  It is just something the massage boards think is important for massage therapists to know.  Most states massage is licensed as a health care provider -that probably has something to do with it.


  2. Because you may hit something you should not....I would imagine it has to do with circulation and decreased heart rate.

  3. It is a federal and/or state law required of practically all those dealing with the public in a therapeutic environment.

    And has to be renewed with you card expires.

    It is also a requirement for agencies which are accredited to receive federal/state funds.
