Gas is only $1.25 in Alberta Canada - yet is $4.72 here in California USA - why is there such a BIG difference? What are they doing right? What are we doing wrong?

See previous question where the $1.25 price was given:

  1. Because unlike  British government they don't try to rip us off at every conceivable turn.

  2. because there is no effort to bring Canada down, it is only intended to bring the U.S. down.

  3. I'm from Canada and the price at the pumps yesterday was $1.37 per litre. That is in comparison to the USA.

  4. its the same... we do ours in litres like the rest of the world, while yours is in gallons... so thats like 4 litres or so, im not sure of the exact ratio.

  5. On news today, Spain truck drivers are in rage, price there

is near double what it is in USA, Gas is high priced world wide.

  6. Well, this seriously requires a long answer but to make it short.  You can direct your attention to the lucrative regime of the united states gov.  They(bush) surely made a pact with the Saudis about oil production and hence affecting prices.  Why does the U.S. get most of its oil from them anyways?  I know they produce the most but seems odd.  Anyways we never had this situation before and all the sudden gas prices sore in a span of two to three years.  Also, this is not because of a war as the regime's excuse is.  Every other place in the world has cheap gas prices except the U.S. that is odd as well.  Someone is benefiting from this.

  7. That's $1.25 per liter! Not a gallon. I see someone has been sleeping during math class!
