Why is Carrie's (s*x &the city movie) cell phone broken and duct taped up??

in the movie s*x and the city, carrie's rhinestone pink cell phone is all duct taped up and old. what's up or the significance of that?? $400 shoes but a ratty phone?

its because shes had it since her and big got together ages ago or something i'm pretty sure

i was gonna say... the Dior shoes were about $2600 in real life depending on where you get them from and the Louis Vuitton Firebird retailed for $6000 but now it's hard to get and I've seen it for as high as $16,000...trust me... i'd pay for the shoes and purse and duct tape my phone too.... lol......

They decided to stick with her old pink phone from the end of the last series.  Carrie isn't a phone person as she pointed out throughout the series and also when Samantha handed her the iPhone at her wedding.  They got the props department to break off a lot of the crystals and then duct tape it to make it look barely held together.
