The last time i saw him was in a hedge bottom laughing as he exited the Tour some years ago, chain wheel rolling down the road and the front brake cable protruding from his left nostril. I think he was just about to be fired from Gan.

  1. Boardman lives with his wife and six children in his native Wirral. Since retirement from professional cycling he had presented for ITV's cycling coverage and currently have a brand of top end bicycles in his name, which are sold at Halfords.

  2. Because he wants to push his new range of Halfords, sorry "Boardman" bikes on the UK public.

  3. He's a household name in the UK- he's about the only cyclist that most British people could name which is sad given that the UK currently dominates track cycling.

  4. I guess it's because of his cycling successes a good few years ago and that other British cycling heros couldn't be bothered or have proved that they are not up to the T.V. work.

Don't forget that Chris won Olympic medals, held the hour record, used a Lotus bike, and held the yellow jersey in the tour after winning a stage.

I am not a fan after I met him at a charity cycling event and my companions and I then referred to him as Stan Boardman. This was after a comedian of the time whose main joke was about the Germans bombing his chip shop. Nuff said.

  5. Cos Lance Amstrong is busy?

  6. Maybe because he is bored man!!!
