I'm not dissing him, just being honest, okay?  He wasn't good enough to make the USA team, so if you aren't good enough to make the USA team, you can play for a country that some of your ancestors within a few generations were from.  Some of his ancestors came from Germany, and he is part German, so that's why he was able to play for Germany.
