  1. Because its a global problem that can only be corrected by laws requiring companies to produce energy efficient vehicles, appliances, cooperation around the world, etc. If left up to corporations we would all be living in garbage and breathing through gas masks, because causing pollution is cheaper than cleaning it up. Its partly a government issue but its more of a humanity issue. we all need to do our part.

  2. Because our politicians lie and deceive to gain power over us.

  3. Its because they have a LOT of power to make a lot of environmental decisions

  4. Because the amount of CO2 we emit into the atmosphere as a society can be regulated by the government, hopefully leading to a safer sustainable future, at least on some level. The warming of the sun can't be stopped by the government but the world that we live on can in some ways be influenced by healthier environmental policies.

  5. Because the economy is a governmental issue, that's why.

  6. Because it deals with allocation of money and resources. And signing the Kyoto Treaty would eventually put millions of Americans out of work because China and other countries don't have to limit their emissions.

This is a good English documentary.

  7. It's just another way for them to have control and another way for them to take rights away from us.

They cause a panic and start making a bunch of rules so we can "save the world." Anything that gets pushed by the government on a regular basis I question.

  8. Well, the government is supposed to reflect the concerns of the People. So maybe the government is listening for a change.
