Why is Congress grilling the oil company execs???

Heck, its Captialism and free enterprise, like we voted for so how can we knock them for making money....if people are willing to pay it then so be it!!

Congress endears themselves to liberals/fascists/commies with this sort of grandstanding. So long as it stays grandstanding, and there's no actual effort to introduce the brand of communism that the Pelosi-led liberals propose, I'll put up with it.

it would be different if this was the designer shoe industry or something. that's a choice. this is oil, we really don't have much of a choice as to whether to buy it or not. even if i got a hybrid car, i calculated the gas mileage difference and because 95% of my hour commute to work is highway, i really wouldnt save any gas. they've got us by the you know whats. food, energy, shelter- necessityies. they should be able to be regulated. the "free market"- the unnecessary purchases- cool cell phones, expensive clothes- who cares.

It's a circus sideshow. The politicians no full well that they are powerless to do anything about fuel prices. But they have to make the public think they are doing something about it. Look at the hearings. All those people in the gallery are not spectators. They are oil company lawyers.
