Darwin's theory of natural selection is a theory, meaning that the hypothesis was experimentally tested and supported many times and has held up to the incredible criticisms of scientists for more than a century and a half.  There is piles of evidence for evolution and natural selection, although it is not always the easiest thing to test experimentally.  Bacteria provide a good study organism because they reproduce very fast, so scientists can observe thousands of generations in a matter of years (see 4th link).


  2. The facts in support of Darwin's theory of natural selection are so numerous, that one easily could present you with a book full of well documented natural examples and experimental results. Honestly, I wouldn't even know where to begin (OK, maybe just one: perhaps you've heard of bacteria "mutating" into "superbugs" in response to antibiotics?
