Why is Direct Tv so flippen expensive?

They have over 16,000 people subscribed to them, don't you think they could be reasonable about a price?

They're all crooks.......cable the dish guys.....everybody. I remember when cable TV started that people paid for cable so they wouldn't have to watch commercials. Well guess what, now we watch commercials and PAY for it, too!

And don't get me started about going to a movie theater where I pay almost $10 to watch a movie and they blast me with a ton of commercials.

Direct has over 16 million customers.  

If you go to a local cable company and compare satellite to digital cable you are going to be surprised.  Dish and Direct are usually much cheaper.  If you factor in other features like the DVR and HD they beat cable even more.  Our local cable company wanted to charge us $14.95 for a DVR.  Dish only wanted $6.  You know who we picked....
