Women in general and particularly the women who head 20% of all households, are particularly disadvantaged. About 80% of girls are taken out of school before the age of 10 to do farm work.

One of the greatest constraints hindering agricultural growth and self-sufficiency is availability of irrigated land in a country that receives hardly any rainfall. With almost 97% of the population confined to the Nile Valley and Delta and their desert fringes, Egyptians have long been concerned with increasing cropped acreage and reclaiming land for agriculture.

15% belong to the middle class  that is diminishing in size .

the rest are poor , with big families and many mouths to feed .

we need a new distribution of wealth , new plans for making use of the overpopulation , new plans for education and health services .

it is such a poor country because there is low amounts of arrable land to farm food. more kids and family members to feed and less animals/plants to eat. no natural resources and low water amounts away from rivers.
