  2. theres a couple of reason but the main reason is a little different from everybody else's.well  the europeans want more money.the u.s is considered rich to them so thats why.another thing is i hope my answer doesnt get deleted.

  3. The US dollar is really weak thus our money is worth less in Europe compared to their currencies!

  5. The profit margin is higher then in the states.The sales tax is 20% here in Hungary.

    Tax on gasoline is even higher.

    Some products that I have bought in the USA cost 2 times as much here.

  6. Assuming you live in the United States, it is because the dollar is very very weak right now relative to the Euro.  This is a deliberate strategy on the part of the US Treasury to attempt to boost exports of American products overseas.

  7. Great answers above. I live in Europe and it IS expensive I just saw my BF fill a tank of gas for $170 in Italy... But in Switzerland, at least salaries are high, too.;-)

    the economy out there is actually better.

    Dollar low, Euro high.

    EU makes for good economy in most of Europe.

    End result:  it's more expensive for Americans to travel in Europe right now.

    Actually, we've had it really good for about 30 years!  It has been dirt cheap for us.  Now we're paying for it.

    The economy goes in cycles.
