Considered such a great boxer when he is only 39-0.

That means he has only had 39 matches.

  1. think about the amateur fights to go with it

the numbers soon start to pile up

its like fight night round 3 you have to do the pro challenges

    then the pro

  2. It is not about how many matches or wins that Floyd has had. It is about the level of skill the man has and the fact that nobody has beat him yet. Most of his skills are unmatched in the ring by any other current fighter out there. He is a master of his craft and that why he is considered the current best and a great boxer because nobody can do what he can do in the ring or as well as he can. I wish he would fight more often and take on all top fighters but we dont always get what we want. That should not take away from how a great of a boxer he is though. Time will tell just how great he is over all but for right now I think he has more than proved he is the current best fighter out there.

  3. 39 pro matches; probably 50 amateur ones as well.

  4. Considering the average top boxers today only do 3 or so matches a year, 39 is quite afew in today's boxing scene.  Today when a guy is coming up he fights maybe 5-8 fights a year, but once he reaches a certain level he trails off to 2-3 fights a year.  For a guy like Mayweather who was already a pretty hot commidity coming out, his initial active period was short because he didnt need an enormous build up.   Its not like the early to mid  20th century where guys fought 20+ times a year.

Like everyone else has pointed out, its more the quality than quantity of the oppostion.

  5. mayweather is a good boxer he has fought lots of people , but honestly he hasnt fought so much of the big named boxers out there, only some but it was either they sucked or it was for the money, the DLH fight was for the money cause i noticed DLH's fight difference from a year ago and he wasnt the same fighter i mean c'mon DLH is a biznez man, he took it easy on floyd n let him win so he can keep fighting for golden boy pro., now gatti just sucks , he even lost to gomez that was no match for floyd , n hatton , was jus a lucky punch as i see, n everyone else just suck , mayweather  is apple picking, now if floyd beat and went up against real fighters such as mosely, cotto, and moved up to middle weight to fight B-hop n Roy Jones Jr, then i will be satisfied, he is just a clown to me , after that wwe fight , that just made him look like a fool, until then Floyd is dodging other fighters out there

  6. its not the record but 2 things one the quality of his opposition. he beat Hernandez,Corrales,Castillo,Gatti,Hatton... and Judah. That is good for him. He is a great boxer.

    2. He is undefeated. being un beaten is a great thing and even better when you have never come close to losing. He is a great fighter. the number of matches doesn't really matter when you have beaten 8 former and current champions.
