Question:

Why is Fox's U-Bet the best choice for making a New York egg cream?

I was in upstate New York a few days ago (I'm Canadian) and found a bottle of this stuff...it's great, and I have enjoyed a few good egg creams now, but haven't tried making one with another brand - why exactly is this stuff considered the best, or is it just tradition?

  1. U- Bet was the syrup that they use to use in the old soda fountain days.

    I should know because I was constantly filling them up-:).

    I miss those days.

    An eggcream was 10 cents.

    Try it with another brand and you'll see the difference.

    Kevin--U-Bet use to make all different flavored syrups.

    That was "The" company for fountain syrups.

    The Vanilla  was also awesome and made great Vanilla eggcreams.
