  1. Because he was burned by being so slow to respond to the crisis in Louisiana.  Then again, just because he drops in to visit doesn't mean that his having done so will have a lasting effect.  He makes an appearance like that to influence public opinion favorably.  What actually makes a difference in a crisis is smart, brave people taking responsibility and risking their lives to help people.  Think of how the Coast Guard spraing into action right away during Katrina, pulling stranded people off roofs instead of waiting for bureaucrats to approve stacks of paperwork.

President Bush might today be regarded more highly if, during Katrina, he'd made the gesture of filling his Marine One helicopter with bottled water and landing outside the stadium to give it away to the needy and be seen doing something real to help his citizens.  He didn't do so, and the rest is history...

  2. Dude, you really don't know much about the state of California or Louisiana.  So, do a  lot more research before spouting off in front of people who know exactly how political wheels turn .  You've heard it, but i will repeat it... the state of Louisiana, precisely the Governor, told him it was not necessary... that everything was under control.  He was not invited to intervene.  Now, go look up " intervene".

  3. Oh boy I knew this question was coming!

Well, after Katrina there was looting and people shooting each other like crazy. It wasn't safe for anyone, let alone the president. The fires aren't making people in Cali act that way, so the president is safe to go.

  4. seriously, what does him going there have to do with anything? President Bush is not going to interfere in Arnies baby.

It is a local problem and locals are handling it. If they need fed aid, they asked, they got it.

Same with Katrina, but local authorities and government proved not to be up to the task. So you see, President Bush can be in Hawaii and it wouldn't change anything.

So they blame natural disasters on president Bush now too?

  5. You might want to rethink the last statement. Our founding fathers were wise to leave a majority of the social issues to individual states; and it had worked for more than 100 years. The "check and balance" separation of powers had only been skewed and out of balance since the FDR administration. That's 60+ years of political chaos and it will only get better when we return to that style of government.

We are NOT a democracy, but a republic where we are supposed to be self-governed.

  6. Young man,

White people are the minority in Southern Ca. Not that that matters anyway. We can handle our own here. Get a clue and stop being a hater. We dont need that useless Saudi a** kisser here anyway. He is only here for a photo op.

  7. 1.  SPELLCHECK!!!!

    2.  Stop making race-baiting generalizations.

    3.  Yes you are 13.  Read a bit before you just type and make yourself sound stupid.

  8. because California invited him where Louisiana did not. by law he can't come until the democratic party in power invited him

  9. Because it was a State issue. Obviously, things have changed.

AT thirteen , wow, I commend your effort toward education. I am concern with your prejudice. It was not a issue of color , just bad politics. Hopefully everyone learned something from it. Thanks for caring.

edit: San Diego is reporting looting. Not always a issue of color my friend. PLS try and look beyond. Kim

  10. because he is a douche bag and to quote Kanye West......

  11. Easy to answer. The Republican Governor invited him to California. The Democrat Governor of Louisiana said they could handle it. They made a mess & then blame someone else.

  12. Gee, your only 13, and you are already showing sighs of becoming a racist.  As others have stated he was invited to California, but not to Louisiana. Also it is much safer in California than it was in Louisiana. Ask yourself what is Mayor Ray Nagin doing for New Orleans. He quickly rebuilt the French Quarter, but is doing almost nothing to help the predominately black wards is he?

  13. because he is fireproof but he doesn't float

  14. No, you don't.

If the President waits 2 days, or a week, or until after the fires are all put out to go to the state, you'll say he's doing the same thing he did in Louisianna, and claim he doesn't care about victims of national disaster.

If he goes promptly, you'll turn it around and make a non-existent racial issue out of it. (the current situation is NOT about  Louisianna

You've cornered him.  No matter what he does, you're ready to pounce on him and blame him  for all your problems.

There's no "right" thing to do as far as you are concerned.

  15. I don't like Bush but didn't he visit Katrina within the first week...

  16. Believe me, Bush can stay in DC.  Nobody in California wants him here.

As with 9/11, he'll pull firefighters working off the line for a few photo ops, act concerned, shake a few hands, and then leave.

  17. Before you give yourself too much credit you might want to see what the percentage of whites really is in California.  I think you might be surprised there genius.  A short spelling lesson might be in order as well.
