No disrepect. It's good pizza. I was with my youth group waiting for at least 2 hours for this world famous pizza, and i felt a little let down. My youth group was goin crazy over all the hype. But i new they would after 2 hours. Plus us St.Louisans were just in the moment of all that big city ambiance lol. I could go buy a pizza from shop n save throw some hot sauce on it and say it was just as good as that Giordano's. What do any of you think? Is'nt it over-rated?? Just a little?

  1. I'm a Chicagoan and my experience w/Giordanos has varied over the years. Sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it's just OK. One thing that's consistent is that it's always hit or miss.

  2. The problem is not the pizza. The problem is people thinking the Chicago-style pizza is the only thing (or one of, say, five things) that makes Chicago a great cosmopolitan city.

I'm a Chicagoan and I very rarely eat deep-dish pizza. Yes, I enjoy pizza, and we do have the best here. But pizza is not high on my list of reasons why I love my hometown or why even from a more objective standpoint it is a great city.

If pizza was one of the few highlights you guys made for your trip, you were bound to end up disappointed. Yes, it's good pizza.... and that's just it--it's PIZZA. A common, ordinary food.

Late add: Why bother posting your "question"? Is it even a question? You're contradicting yourself. If your group was "goin crazy over all the hype," it sounds like going for Giordano's pizza was indeed a priority during your visit.

And you don't need to condescend to our residents.... We have many people here.

  3. I love Giordanos and so does the Chicago Tribune. I don't think it is over hyped at all.
