  1. It is not a problem. It is beneficial to plants and animals.

  2. Global warming reduces world cloud cover, and in so doing causes land to dry out, drought going on to desert, failure of forests, and of course, that drought means the earth will not control its CO2 level, leading to even more global warming.

Global warming will also release great volumes of Methane Hydrate currently sealed in arctic ice. This is toxic, flammable, and a major Greenhouse gas.

While global warming may make lands further north amenable to  agriculture, areas between Mexico City and Chicago are likely to become too dry to support agriculture or forestry.

The most urgent step to solve global warming may be to get water to places and at times it is needed. Water for irrigation lowers temperatures, but more significantly  water is needed in order to allow plants, trees to absorb the CO2. We need to do this even if we stop spewing out all of our greenhouse gases, because it will take a century to return to normal if we do not.

We also need to mandate a reduction in extraction and importation of fossil fuels to limit the damage. This may make it necessary to invest heavily in wind, water, solar energy, and of course our major alternative fuel, nuclear.

  3. Global warming is caused by massive amounts of CO2 being spewed up into the atmopshere, having it stay there was trap more sun heat radiation inside, causing the tempatures to rise.

People are affected because weather gets more extreme, on both ends of the spectrum. So in turn, more droughts, more hurricanes, more freezing, more floods, in places not previously known to have them. So then people fight over water, over ariable land, over resources that were once prevelent but now are rare. It kills or moves animal species we depend on (fish, certain insects and saftey from disease like malaria).

    1. releasing no emissions or VERY little.

    2. reforest sections of Asia, SA and Africa.

    3. Less overall environmental impact.

Simple enough right? Can we do it? Right now its the US who are the ones who are slowing everyone else down. THANK YOU BUSH!!!!

  4. Its not, it a silly liberal fad.

The absence of sunspots has left some scientists scratching their heads about what could be next.

Extremely low sunspot activity and extended periods of no sunspot activity have some scientists wondering how this could affect the weather on Earth. There has been a coincidence over the centuries of an absence of sunspots correlating with very cold temperatures, and a presence of sunspots corresponding to warm periods.

Over 1,000 years ago during the medieval warm period there was increased sunspot activity, and then that activity slowed down as Earth entered the Little Ice Age of the late 1700s to mid-1800s. During the last century, the sun had increased sunspot activity, which correlated with a period of warming.

After the current warming that we had in the 1900s, the sunspots have diminished. And that's one reason that we are headed for a cooling period, NOT warming.

Other reasons are that in the last decade temperatures have leveled off, and in the last year they dropped. Temperatures have dropped by more than a half a degree centigrade, which is equivalent to more than a century's worth of warming.

  5. The extremes in temperature has put farmers in very unpredicatable situations over the past decade or two.  As an occasional gardener, I have found that plants that once were not able to survive in my region have become more common and are able to survive through the winters.

There are several ways to manage this ecologic disaster by saving the plants and animals that once lived in each region.  We should use mass transportation, car pool, recycle, reuse, and just plain manage our lives better.

After our Father's Day celebration, I was shocked that my hosts simply threw out fresh fruit and other food.  Their motto is that they do not "reheat."

  6. y is it a problem? no one said it was!

  7. It's a problem because it's a big propaganda scheme that is hurting ordinary people. The only way it can be solved is to educate the public.

  8. It is a problem because the Earth is heating up causing the ice to melt. Then that causes floods and from diagrams and graphs it shows that miles of land will be flooded.

    Solutions:

Plant a tree-trees take up 1 ton of CO2 in there life

    Carpool

Hang out washing instead of drying in a dryer- if this is done for 6 months 700 pounds of CO2 can be saved.

    RECYCLE

  9. It is a problem because it is causing the climate to change more rapidly than any other time in history as far as scientist can tell.  The rapid change in climate can result in unfavorable changes in Earth's ecosystems.  For example, an climb of a degree or 2 C can cause forest to die back and become an extreme fire hazard if accompanied by a drought even though raising the atmospheric concentration of CO2 can enhance plant growth and make some species more drought tolerant.  It can do the same for agricultural crops, requiring farmers to use more water and raising the price of food in some places.  Sea level may rise a few feet over 100 years reducing arable land area and forcing population centers near coasts to engineer ways of controlling flooding.  Vector diseases such as malaria, dengue and yellow fever may once again gain a foot hold in some places unless money is spent controlling the vectors (for example mosquitoes) and training doctors to quickly identify these problems and put surveillance programs in place.

Ways to slow climate change down is to:

    1 -  reduce fossil fuel consumption through the use of technology  (more solar, nuclear, wind electric; hybrid cars; hydrogen fuel cells) and conservation (energy efficient light bulbs, raise gas mileage requirements for example);

    2 - reduce the loss of the "natural" landscape and manage to increase carbon sequestration;

    3 - develop agricultural technology that reduces the amount of methane produced by rice and livestock operations for example;

4 - and reducing wetland loss to keep ocean ecosystems healthy (this is a MAJOR wild card with regards to climate change - wetlands reduce pollutants entering the oceans, and is the "cradle" for many bottom of the food chain species).

Many of these things will improve the bottom line for business but some aid will have to be given to developing nations that can't afford the technologies.  This is really where the active discussion is for many governments - how to achieve these goals in the most cost effective way for the benefit of the most people.

  10. Global Warming is a real pain. The polar regions are melting. Soon, there won't be anymore polar regions. Penguin nurseries on ice are melting. Chicks die. Polar bears have no homes and are drowning fo the first time ever. Also, there is a shortage of krill in these places since krill breed under ice. And there is no more ice. And krill is a major food source. Also, mosquitos have more places to live now that temperatures rise. Not to mention the fact that water basins are getting dried up. Eathquakes and hurricanes are now more common. This effects countries drastically since then there would be repair money involved and so on. Also, the weather is all messed up. Some places get so much rain, there are floods. Others get no rain at all for months. If you want to learn more, I suggest you to read "An Inconvienient Truth" by Al Gore.

As for how to solve it ...

there are a millions way to help. :-333

  11. It's not!!!!  How come over 31,000 scientist say global warming is a scam?  I think we should respect our earth and treat it w/ respect, but there is no "global warming"

  12. Global Warming affects every single living creature on this planet!  The entire eco-system of the world is in danger.  It affects people by causing sometimes massive weather-related problems, raising the level of the oceans, reducing the amount of ice in our poles, etc.

It will take many things to solve this, and it won't/can't be done quickly or easily.  But here are some things EACH of us can do...

    1. Replace your lightbulbs with energy efficient ones

    2. Walk or bike whenever possible, or use public transportation.

    3.  Water wisely

    4.  Recycle as much as possible

    5.  Write your local congressman supporting any and all eco-friendly laws that are considered in you city, county state or country.

  13. How to stop global warming:

    - walk

    - ride the bus

    - carpool

    - bike

    - recycle, reuse, reduce

  14. Global Warming:  Here are some things that can be done by

    each of us.

1- Stop spending hours on the computer

2 - Stop talking on cell phones for hours

3 - Stop watching TV for hours

4 - Stop playing x box for hours

5-  Stop going to the movies to see the same movie over and over

All of these things contribute to global warming

  15. Global Warming effects oceans by raising the sea level. It causes more rains and snow fall. It makes warmer summers which causes colder winters. There will be more hurricanes, tornadoes, dam-breaks, and other natural disasters. It causes the ice in the world to melt. If you look at a satelite photo or just go to a website with a phto of greenland years ago it will show more ice. Now, there isn't as much ice. It's impossible to solve or reverse global warming. We can only slow down the process. Global warming will eventually cause an ice age. But mother nature will always have a way to make things right. So, after the ice age everything will go back to the way things were after the last ice age billions of years ago. The earth's polar ice caps will come back, and the oceans won't be as deep. The ocean level will lower.

I hope that I answered your question! :-)

  16. The problem of global warming is that we have polutioned the Earth and the air causing a growing hole in out o-zone layer. It effects people by rising temperatures, melting ice caps in the polar region, water levels rising, more desiese, droughts and so many more. If we continue to live in such life, like throwing stuff on the side walk, using cars, dining out, using more energy and also many more, there will be consiquences.

    Ways to stop global warming...

    1) Recycle seperatly paper (big one!) plastic and glass seperatly, (try having another compile for stuff that is neither, but has the recycble sign.

    2) Walk more or catch a bus to and from work (I personaly suggest walk, because then you do good for yourself for exercise and not poluting the air with gasses)

    3) Use one of those bags for grocery shopping, instead of using the plastic bags

    4) You can actually do this right now, turn of any power outlets your not using right now, turn off the lights in every room

    5) For lightning, use ligh-bulbs like 25 or 50 instead of 75 and 100

    6) Re-use stuff like CD cases, and paper for projects

  17. Global warming is not a problem, and never has been.

The current scam over global warming is a huge problem though, and it's causing other problems like needless worry, wasting money and brainwashing.

There aren't 3 ways to solve this, there is just one: public awareness of this scam.
