Is God like Gollum, who refers to himself as we or us? Who is god's precious?

I was reading a Revised English Bible last night, and in Genesis God is referred or is referring to himself as 'we' or 'us'. What is up with that?

  1. I know you've seen my normal answers to the usual "Triune" Christian God, but I just have to say, for the record, that Fireball's answer made me ridiculously aroused.

C'mon sweetie - let's get it on, you me, and the Holy Ghost....

  2. Yeah, that's why he married Sybil...LOL

  3. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  4. HE IS COMPLEX and in 3 parts....we cant totally understand!

  5. It is the time honored 'we' of royalty. Gawd speaks in the name of all his subjects.

  6. God is a Trinity: FAther/Mother, Son and Holy Spirit.

  7.   The Trinity is not only supported by the use of the plural Hebrew noun Elohim [Genesis 1:1] but also by the use of plural pronouns.

For instance, God said,'' Let us make man in our image'' [v.26], and God later said, ''The man is become as one of us, to know good and evil'' [ 3:22]

  8. G-d is speaking to the heavenly court, the angels. That's why he says 'us'.

  9. he's talking to his wife

  10. That's how people who think they're really important talk, like the Queen. It implies 'I'm worth many of you'.
