Why is Gov of New Mexico Bill Richardson saying illegals can use fake ss card to get drivers license?

Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson explains what he would bring to the table if he were chosen as a vice presidential candidate for Senator Obama and the criteria Obama should use in making his choice. He also discusses Obama's challenge with the Hispanic vote.

NM is one of 2 states that gives drivers licenses to illegal aliens and this a$$hole is proud of it! Good choice for Obama! We get double barrelled a$$holes!

He won't be picked. McCain was once upon a time seemingly soft and hazy about the immigration issue but has since changed that stance. H e realized that it was a hot button issue. Obama knows as well if he picked Richardson he would be done.

Richardson knows darn well that even with the extension an all of that that each state as to be fully complient under federal law with the Real ID act by Jan 2010. That means every SS# and all documentation has to be checked when getting or renewing a licence. Not just have your old license on you.

My state (east coast) is doing it in stages...... if you were born after 63 you have to show with everything.... and your SS# will be verified. That means you do not get your license that day. Illegals are leaving to other states in droves.

Real Id will be expensive for the states. Some are prepared and fully funded. The ones that have politicians complaining the most want more money from the feds. But all know that once that deadline hits the feds are going to stop providing money for highways and such.

Noncomplient states IDs will no longer be legally accepted for travel or to enter government buildings. That covers the politicians huh?

He is just spouting off because his state is heavily hispanic and he wants to stay in politics. He can later go "hey, I tried and spoke up".

If he picks him for a VP I would not EVER vote for him

why should they get licences?

when they show up to the DMV they should be detained and deported why don't they put money into enforcing the laws already on our books?

Bill Richardson isn't he violating federal law by endorsing and sending the message that document fraud is accepted a true means of legal id ? How soon will it be until the terrorists start showing up in NM. I do not  know how he thinks he can keep track of them when they are supplying untrue information. Wouldn't they also need a SS# to obtain insurance as well.
