Why is Hemingway in the Fiction section in libraries?

  2. Some literature is fiction some isn't.

    Most likely he is in your fiction section rather than your "literature" section because Brits are egotistical enough they don't consider any American writer to be literature. Otherwise, I'd use the rule of thumb that if the oldest librarian can remember an author publishing books, they won't be classified as literature yet.
