Why are Goverments Banning Human Cloning ?? WHY ??

What's so wrong about it? They allowed the cloning of animals & plants. Why not Humans too??

I mean we have the technology to clone humans. Why Banned it ??

Most Nations from all over the world will Ban Human Cloning. But Why ?? What's their Main Reason for Banning Human Cloning ??

Oh, they can't ban Weapons of Mass Destruction from advancing.

But they can Ban the technology of creating life from advancing ???!!

Seems pretty Stupid to me doesn't it?

Ban technology that creates Life, But Don't Ban Technology that creates Death & Destruction ??

I mean:

Human cloning could produce many benefits. Human therapeutic cloning could provide genetically identical cells for regenerative medicine, and tissues and organs for transplantation. Such cells, tissues, and organs would neither trigger an immune response nor require the use of immunosuppressive drugs. Both basic research and therapeutic development for serious diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes, as well as improvements in burn treatment and reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, are areas that might benefit from such new technology.

Human reproductive cloning also would produce benefits. Antinori and Zavos hope to create a fertility treatment that allows parents who are both infertile to have children with at least some of their DNA in their offspring.

Some scientists, including Dr. Richard Seed, suggest that human cloning might obviate the human aging process. How this might work is not entirely clear since the brain or identity would have to be transferred to a cloned body. Dr. Preston Estep has suggested the terms "replacement cloning" to describe the generation of a clone of a previously living person, and "persistence cloning" to describe the production of a cloned body for the purpose of obviating aging, although he maintains that such procedures currently should be considered science fiction.

In Aubrey de Gray's proposed SENS (Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence) one of the considered options to repair the cell depletion related to cellular senescence is to grow replacement tissues from stem cells harvested from a cloned embryo.

  1. ever seen the island?! thats why.

  2. There are a few reasons as to why cloning is illegal

    1. On the end of DNA strands, there are telomeres. the telomeres are like caps on the ed of the dna strands. they hold the DNA together so itdoesn't unravel. however. when cloning the cloned animlal can have either longer telomeres or shorter telomeres than the original. this means that they will live either longer or shorter than the original. it would be nice if the telomeres were longer on a human clone, but the more common in cloning is shorter telomeres. this makes it safe to assume that if a human was cloned, that its life expectancy would drop by years. (but i say big woop. its either today or tomarrow)

2.People belive that if people cloned other people, that the rich *** people would create 'designer' babies. (but i say that there could be laws and regulations made to prevent this)

    3. it could create riots due to the act that about 52% of the united states is against cloning. (but i say it would eventually die down)

    4. it is belived that cloned human children would recieve persecution from others. (which isn't really true cuz when they made the tast tube babies people were excited and loved the test tube babies so much that thye spoiled them rotten)

    5. if a husband and wife were to decide to get a cloned child, whos child is it really, if its only cloned from one parent. problems would arrise if the couple got divorced.

i feel that besides # 5 there arn't really ay good reasons. the only thing that im against with cloning is the theraputic cloning because you have to kill the fetus in order to extract the stem cells. but there are alternatives to that. for example. theraputic cloning is being done on monkeys, and any organs made that way can be transplanted into humans.

as for your other question as to why they cant ban wars and stuff is because when someone becomes the leader of a country, they become arrogant, self-centered, and ignorant. so they constantly fight, and wars and weapns are their tools they use to fulfill their greedy need for power

and the gold person who wrote an answer should just go away because he doesnt know what hes talking about. the clone is not the same age as the original. cloning is basically reprogramming an eggs DNA and stimulating it so it starts to grow. its not that hard of a concept

  3. The technology is not really in place as yet.  It is still in the research and development phase.  You will have to have children the old fashioned way for a few decades before the process gets far enough to make it practical.  The there will be a problem of what rights do clones have.  Could we simply make them for spare parts?  Would this be moral?

  4. people can get away with mass crimes by havin a clone to take the blame ummm if it is research hard enough people could probably make clone armies there would also be shome bs about clone havin rights because people would think lower of them and cell research which some just dont approve of

  5. It could also create another you, with the same DNA and finger prints, so you want that? I don’t, and what’s to say who when or why they could clone. It’s a slippery slope. I see no true benefit from cloning anything other than cells and organs. What is the real benefit of cloning people anyway? Creating a super race? Then what they kill anyone who isn’t cloned. It’s ridiculous to clone people.

  6. You realize that a clone starts at the age they are cloned from? So what are we going to do? Clone babies, yeah and then you will get the entire mess of that. Actually you seem to do a pretty good job of explaining WHY we ban cloning. It devalues human life. Oh so now we can transplant your brain to a cloned body making it so you never have to age. Oh good and what value does human life hold now? For that matter what is the point of having new children? It would simply overpopulate the Earth more.

Now if you want to get in to a bigger issue READ ABOUT CLONING. Not the "benefits" but the CURRENT research. Read about the MUTATIONS already there. It takes over 1,000 to get ONE SUCCESSFUL clone.

  7. Having just one, of some people, is too many.
