Why is India still a Power-starved country?

Do you know, that my PC crashed twice in the last month because of prolonged power cuts. Moreover, I wasnt able to submit my job on time because of this? HUH!!

well, supply does not meet demand especially in certain states. Industry and services have been growing rapidly.plus electricity is a state [or is it concurrent] subject. most electricity boards are bankrupt and are running losses because of theft and free power to farmers. the planned target for addition to power india runs into lakhs of crores of rupees. they are inviting private sector set up power plant. Enron was a mistake. but with additions to power generation in future the power deficit may reduce.
