I have lived in Indiana all my life, and I am somewhat liberal I suppose. Why is it that Indiana is so conservative and never votes democratic in elections? (except once back in the 60's I believe)

  1. Likely because it's still mainly rural and 'fresh'.  Enjoy it while you can because you might regret it when the liberals begin their infiltration.

  2. I recently drove through Indiana and was surprised at how many homes had the American flag raised in the front yard.  It was great!  Conservatives are more patriotic for sure!

  3. People with common sense and intuition are mostly conservative.

  4. I don't know how conservative it is now.  It is changing.

When I grew up there in the sixties, it  was really racist(The KKK started in Indiana) but even that has changed.

I'm proud of Indiana now and they are not that conservative anymore.

Republicans in Indiana  lost a ton of seat in the congress in 2006.

The presidential election is another story, but I am more confident than ever that they will get there some day.

  5. Farms??   A ton of rural areas.
