Why is Islamic art devoid of figurative images?

What makes you say that?  I saw a beautiful figurative picture made in the Arabic script in a restaurant called Nagina in Southall London.   I would have loved to have owned it even though I am not a Moslem nor an Arab.  It was a masterpiece on its own. I believe the word it was made out of was Allah


  2. The human body is not subject to celebration.  it is thought of lustful.  Only animals and nature are celebrated.

  3. Because the Koran is meant to be taken very literally. This spills out into their artwork.
