Why is Israel in the Eurovision, European soccer, Eurovision Dance Contest when not part of Europe???

Why are you watching Eurovision? It's soooo boring.

Israel is not in Europe, but its citizens are everywhere. So they may, if they only choose, to play in Euro championship, Asia chmpionship, PanAmerican Games and also Antarctica Cup.

I am being serious, I think its because although Israel is in the middle east I do not think they are welcome at too many of the arab nations, so I think so that Israel doesnt lose out they have put them in with the europeans, but hey this is just my take on it this is not I know this is for sure ok?

Good question, but parts of the USSR are in the same contest. Are they Europeans?

On Eurovision & Eurovision Dance the Isreali Broadcasting Authority is part of the organisation that funds and arranges the contest. It has less to do with the EU and more to do with the various arrangements that exist between broadcasters to share footage.

I dont know XD. But america have it right i think by throwing the american song contest, even if an american loses they still win cos there all american XD.

Have wondered that myself.  Can only conclude that it's because a large percentage of the population of Israel is European so the Country is an honorary member of Europe.

Good question. I wouldn't regard Israel as a European country. Since its in the middle east.

Other mid-eastern countries are also in Eurovision and other European organisations. anyway, Israel is culturally European, and close enough to Europe.

And a Brit judges on American Idol because you bought the concept off ITV, and Simon Cowell was the only thing that made our original version good, so you bought him too.
