Why is Jaclyn Smith the host of Shear Genius?

I like this show, but what makes Jaclyn Smith a hair expert? I LOVE LOVE LOVE Project Runway, and I totally get Heidi Klum for a FASHION expert, because she is... but why Jaclyn Smith?????

I was wondering the same thing. When I think of her, a hair expert does NOT come to my mind. I think she is terrible as a host on this show!! She seems bored by the whole show, and I can't stand when she says "Your work was shear genius" with no excitement.

If there is a new season, I am hoping they get a new host.

No joke...I've had the same question. And her hair is certainly not shear genius.

i agree. i think they chose her because charlie's angels were sort of hair or fashion icons from the 70s. of course farrah is the obvious choice if they are going to go that route, but she's a hot mess that can barely utter a coherent sentence.
