Why is Jason Kidd starting on Team USA?

First game Stats:

Kidd - 0 points 0 assists

CP3 - 11 points 8 assists

Deron - 14 points 5 assists

I just don't understand this experience c**p. Does the fact that he played in the olympics 12 years ago not sound like a good thing to anyone else?

I agree 100 percent. He's maybe the 5th- or 6th-best point guard in the NBA right now.  CP3 and D-Will are way better.  I don't get it either.

I would put CP3 in if I were coach but Im guessing Coach K is still cautious of playing younger players since the team lost in 2004 with younger players starting.Kidd has never lost internationally so coach K is probably doing it to give himself and team usa a feeling of some securiy. Besides Chris and Deron will get plenty of time to play anyway.

Its cause he is old and probably won't make the team at the next olympics so he might as well be a starter now and let the real stars shine later.

I agree with you. Both CP and Deron are amazing players and so much more athletic than Kidd. Nevermind the fact that they both are much better shooters than kid. Chris Paul is like a Jason Kidd 2.0 and Deron is just sick.

And did u see those lay ups that d will and cp3 had at the end those were filthy I don't think Kidd can do do that. And you forgot how many turnovers he had.

you ever hear the saying "stats dont always tell the story?" Jason Kidd may have not put up any numbers but he is experienced and a floor general, he keeps everyone in line and makes others play to their best ability, and that is needed on this young team, CP3 is by far a better point guard at this time, but coach K is looking for a leader, it was just an exhibition game, once its the real deal you can bet CP3 will be the starting PG! GO USA!

Ya I know what your sayin man. I would totally put CP3 in there as a starter but they are just showin respect for the elders by puttin Jason Kidd in there as a starter, ya know!! They gotta respect their elders
