The president of the United States does not have complete control of the country and the military. There are 3 branches of government (executive, legislative, and judicial) that are all a part of a system of checks and balances. Obama is not trying to overthrow the government and become a dictator with complete control over the country, he is trying to be elected as president. If he is elected, he will have the highest position of power in the executive branch, but he will certainly not have complete control over the country or the military. I suggest you read a grade school-level history book to gain a better understanding of the American system of government.
