  1. he didn't want to start trouble with #3 or #30 so he gts whatg he gots

  2. Because he doesn't want to be a distraction. Nick Swisher offered his number to Griffey and he turned it down.

  3. Nick Swisher was going to give him 30 but Griffey said he doesnt want to come in and disrupt things. He said he wants the chemistry to be good and he wants a championship more than anything. He also said they gave him a list too chose from and "that was one of the numbers on there"

  4. It's a tribute to Keith Hernandez.

  5. It's just a number, same as whatever Pudge Rodriguez is wearing for the Yankee's. Pudge has worn #7 forever, it was retired by the Yankee's (Mickey Mantle).

  6. what they said

  7. He just picked it because he didn't want to be a distraction. Nick Swisher was willing to give him #30, but Griffey said that would make him go from dirty 30 to dirty 1. Dirty 30 is just a nickname Swisher has and Griffey just wants to be here to help. To both Nick Swisher and Ken Griffey Jr. it's just a number.

  8. Harold Baines #3 is retired

Swish offered his number but Griffey turned it down.

"Griffey, wearing No. 17 (a number he says he picked randomly )"
