Why is Last Call with Carson Daly always on hiatus?

I don't really watch this show, I actually watch the show before it, which is Late Night with Conan O'brien, who I love. However, after Conan is over I usually leave the T.V. because I am too lazy to turn it off. I have noticed that Carson is always on hiatus, some weeks they will give the same reruns over and over again. I am just curious to know what is the deal with that. Winter spring and summer is the same thing. It seems like he only tapes one week of shows a month.

Anyone know what the deal is??

either the network is cheap or he asks for too much money

because hes as funny on that show as he was entertaining on trl.
