Why is Mark Jackson comparing Paul Pierce to Larry Bird?

He said that Paul Pierce is just as explosive as Larry Bird on the offensive end. Paul Pierce is the truth and I'm a big fan but Larry could have shot 50 points a game if he wanted too. Larry Bird was one of the best team leaders off all time and never tried to shoot over an entire defense if a teammate had a better shot. Mark Jackson is ridiculous. Paul Pierce has more to prove to be at Bird's level.

Maybe he just feels Bird is the standard that players could acheive. Especially as in being a Celtic.

Either that or Jackson secretly compares himself to being Isiah Thomas.
