Why is May 15 considered a "lucky day" or is it?

It's not.  March 15 is considered bad luck, though.   (It's the Ides of March, which is when Julius Caesar is murdered in Shakespeare's play.  Beware the Ides of March!)  The Ides of May, however, is fine and dandy.
