While Barack Obama earned his nomination getting people out to vote for him in record numbers, defeating the mighty Clinton machine. Sarah Palin is relatively obscure person to the nation. Why didn't he chose experienced candidates like Mitt Romney or Charley Crist of Florida?

  1. because it's a smart move, mccain is a genius

    Mccain/Palin 2008

  2. McCain is smart like a fox

Sarah Palin is going to get McCain elected

who needs another empty suit like Obama and ol' joe blow

  3. He is trying to woo the right religious extremists that he lost the support of a few months ago when he dumped Pastor Hagee.

This is why he has suddenly become even more religious and chose the extremely right wing religious Palin.

If you read one of Jerome Corsi's articles about McCain on the religious right wing Worldnet Daily site you will see what I mean.

  4. He's praying all the women will  vote for her. Have you been listening to McCain, he's got nothing to lose.

  5. Several reasons. Obviously, he prefers to hang with s**y babes--and dumped his first wife for that reason. Secondly, he realizes Obama has captured the votes of a majority of Americans, so he picks the governor of a state with the population of Austin, Texas, as his candidate for vice president. Obviously, he is a Bob Dole candidate--got it because no one else in his party wanted to defend the last 8 years of mis-government.

  6. Why are the DEMS taking a gamble on America with their president nominee? He has the same amount of experience as her and he's at the top of the ticket. McCain already has experience. He only needed a conservative woman out of Washington. Your Obama is so insecure, he ran to Biden who's been in Washington for 35 years! Some Change huh? That's like picking Hillary. She was claiming she has 35 yrs of experience and she earned more votes than Biden during the primary. So why why why has he not picked Hillary? Couldnt share the spotlight I guess. Obama is a joke!

  7. I would have loved to see a McCain/Romney ticket.

Romney Versus Biden would have been interesting.

  8. Palin has more experience the Obama.  She is actually more qualified then him to the next president.

McCain's choice is brilliant.  He chose a strong woman with deep conservative values that will not only unify his base, she will also raise doubt among Clinton supporters as to which party favors women, she has completely stolen Obama's thunder (did he recently give a big speech?),  she is the new change Obama has been preaching about (even though he chose a 30+ year veteran of the Senate) and she is hot which is something Clinton failed with every pant suit.

  9. My guess is that he's really trying to get the votes of the Reagan Democrats that wanted Hillary Clinton to be president. He may also want to show that he is still a maverick, and that he hires a fellow maverick for his VP position. There are also rumblings that even Alaska may be a battleground state in this election. By securing Palin, he's effectively secured Alaska. By choosing Palin, McCain has also overwritten the buzz that Obama's speech at the DNC would have made. This surprise choice has proven to have dominate the media, casual political conversations, and even Yahoo Answers. One last advantage to Palin that I can think of is her far right political positions - far right critics of McCain who claim he is "too moderate" will be appeased by Palin's very conservative political perspective.

However, on a side note, by choosing Palin, McCain is jeopardizing the attack on Obama's experience - Palin also suffers from a lack of experience, although defenders may say that her experience as Governor is more important than Congressman.

  10. ii think mccain wanted women voters and he picked a woman to be his running mate...Which is clearly insult to women a lot of women in my city are pissed off

  11. Lack of intelligence.

  12. Barry the Inexperienced didn't earn anything. Libs are just crying because McCain stole your thunder, Boo Hoo.

  13. Because experience is not always better. For Gods sake, Christ declares a state of emergency for a tropical storm after all weve been thru the last few years. Come on now, especially before it even hit us. It was nothing more than a strong thunderstorm that the mid west people experience all the time. Hed be crying emergencies all over the country for nothing. Its McCins strategists that are wanting Palin, and besides perhaps our best President was a Hollywood actor with no experience at all

  14. You are the idiot that has been spreading stupid all over Yahoo! Answers. But I can understand your lack of intelligence, I mean, you have a picture of Paris Hilton as your display for goodness sakes.

First of all, Obama won because of the superdelegates. She recieved more votes than him in the primaries. She had more people actually cast their vote for her, he had more party big whigs vote for him.

He had more delegates because he won more heavily populated areas in some states. Like Texas. He won dallas which has a heavy population of black people, she won the rest of the state, but because Dallas has more people....more delegates. Duh, Im sure even you could figure that out.

Second of all, McCain picked her because she reflects what he himself is: a maverick. She cleaned house in Alaska, gave herself lower pay and helped gain billions in surpluss revenue. She is super intelligent and is s**y as h**l to boot.

You need to really need to check your facts before you rant next time.

  15. I think he has made the right choice. Wait and see.  I think he has done exactly what he needed to do? You would not be saying anything is he had Picked Mitt but he picked Sarah, and I think he has taken a road less traveled and that will make all the difference.  She is very appealing, to many, and I bet she will help win this election. Stand and see the wonder of it all.  McCain has energized the base.

  16. Obama has not earned anything. And he is as obscure as I am, he just has a better public relations person.

  17. He made a great choice.  I was not sure if I was going to vote for him.  But, now I am 100% sure that I am going to vote for him.

  18. John McCain wants to get votes from outraged Hillary Rodham Clinton supporters.

Think about that, what would he not do to get 18,000,000 supporters of Hillary Clinton to vote. She is the only hope to make McCain win!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Because it's not High School or Hollywood, it's not who is the best known or "popular".

  20. McCain is trying to capture the vote of racist democrat white women who dont want a "n*gger" and think its time for women to be accepted as men in the world of politics.

I'm voting for mcCAin but his choice was PURE IDIOCY. Almost every woman over 40 that I know (like my mom and her friends) thinks he's a pervert for having married a much younger woman back in his day (as male I dont think so, but you know women), so what does he do? He chooses a woman over 40 most of whom think he's a dom? What kind of tard move is that? Plus I'm scared some radical femicrazy woman (think Warhol) would get funny ideas. You know what i mean? Bad choice on his part but.. hey gotta live with it. Beats voting for a lib.

  21. No, his campain is taking a much needed bath of freshness

  22. Well since your boy Obama is all about "change" and new faces in Washington, what is wrong with choosing Gov. Palin?  Palin is a great choice and here is why:  There are, in my opinion, two women more qualified for the position Elizabeth Dole and Condi Rice.  Since McCain is trying to put as much distance between him and G.W. Bush, therefore Condi is out of the picture.  Elizabeth Dole is about the same age as McCain, so Palin appeals to younger voters.  Palin is a woman thus appealing to minority voters.  Palin is more conservative than McCain thus appealing to conservative Republicans.  It is a much better ticket than Obama/Biden...because the experienced candidate is running for president and the up and coming candidate is running for vice president...not the other way around.  At least Palin will get her OJT (on the job training) as Vice President, and she goes in having been a mayor and governor (both are executive offices).  Obama was a "community organizer", exactly what kind of job is that?  Obama was a state legislator.  How exactly does that train him for the presidency?  Obama is a sitting U.S. Senator, of course he spent most of his term on the campaign trail to become president, how exactly has this prepared him for the presidency?

  23. she is educated however he has unterior motives. he is counting on every stupid woman to vote for him so there can be a woman in the white house as vice president.and there are many women who will vote that ticket for that reason only just like many blacks will vote for obama for that reason only.stupid but it happens
