Mount Rushmore craved out in the 1930s, it was at the time to represent 4 of our most famous Presidents, carving this huge statue was no easy task, on a side of a mountain.  Even with on slot of WW II, and funds pulled from it because of the war, it was still completed  This landmark is open to the public for those who want to admire it.  The upkeep of Mount Rushmore is not an easy task either, with time and weather, it has taken to some degree its toll on the statue.
