  1. No worries! Mum isn't really "kicking" the babies, she is playing with them! Cats do this when they play with each other, so don't worry that she is being mean to them. I'm sure if you watch them play with each other, they will mimic Mum's behavior and will do the same to each other (and even Mum!).

If you start playing with them, they will even do this to your hand. I know my newest rescue kitten seems to enjoy kicking the daylights out of my hands lol. Of course it doesn't hurt and it's funny as all get out to watch.

    Best of luck!

  2. It sounds like playing. It's normal for cats to play rough with their kittens. If she's doing it when they're trying to nurse it may be because they're teething and starting to chew her a little. They usually start trying to wean at about 8 weeks but this varies from cat to cat. If you haven't introduced solid food yet,it's about time to start. Give them a teaspoonful each of moistened cat food a day and slowly increase this over the next 4-6 weeks. If the mother refuses to nurse them you may need to give them formula along with the food for the next month. Unless the mother is actually attacking the kittens, I don't think you have a problem.

  3. Its perfectly normal, dear, they are just playing. Many of them do it.

  4. You scared me! I thought you meant your Mum was kicking them! *phew* It does sounds like she's playing with them and also encouraging them to play.
