I just bought a PS3 and have an HD TV. The HDMI doesn't seem to work with my PS3 and I've tried everything there is to do to get it to work. Nothing seems to help. SO I bought the Component Cables for an HD TV and now the games and everything play in HD but my blu-ray movies don't. Why is this? Is there Anything I can do to make them play in 1080p?

  1. You need to go to your system menu, set the resolution to 1080p, turn your system off, plug in your HDMI cable to your system and then to your TV, and then turn your system on.

This is in the MANUAL btw

  2. Go into your PS3's settings. Somewhere in there, you'll find one for HD. You have to manually set it to an HD resolution to get HD.
