Three Anti-Christs were predicted by Nostradamus. The first was Bonaparte, the second was Hitler, and the third is yet to be known.

  1. Nap was actually classisified as anti-CLERICAL, not anti-Christ; which meant he was against the church.  This is why:

"When Pope Pius VI took sides against the revolution in the First Coalition, Napoleon Bonaparte invaded Italy. The Pope was imprisoned by French troops the following year and died after six weeks of captivity. After a change of heart, Napoleon then re-established the Catholic Church in France with the signing of the Concordat of 1801. However many anti-clerical policies continued. Wherever Napoleonic armies entered a territory, monasteries were sacked and church schools and charitable institutions were secularized."

  2. You can interpret Nostradamus writing any way you want as long as you ignore the fact that he was writing about his own time, for the princes and kings of his own period. As long also as you ignore half of each of the quatrains in question, as far as I know the earth was not frozen solid nor covered with hail during the times of Napoleon or Hitler of whoever is the current holder of the title of AntiChrist.

As to why some people decided that Napoleon was one of the anti-Christ, it was because they tried to find someone in history that would come close to the description and decided on Nappy. And by the way Nostradamus only mentioned two antichrists (century 8-77, century 10-66), the third one is guessed at by people ready to twist his writings to make them say what they want them to say.

  3. I am not Nostradamus, but I can imagine that his main two criteria that would classify a person as "an anti-christ" are as follows:

    1.  They must be "anti-Church" and/or "anti-Christian".

    and

    2.  They must cause a tremendous amount of suffering and death as they perform their deeds.

Hitler and Napoleon both meet those criteria...

  4. That's just how some people interpret it.  Studying history it's clear there are worse people who have lived than Napoleon before and since the time of Nostradamus.

  5. They aren't classified Anti-Christ. They were conquerors, and conquerors were murderers too (Hitler, Napoleon, Louis the Pious, Caesar, Alexander..)

  6. You'd have to ask the person who so classified Napoleon.   I've never seen any such classification, but maybe I missed my subscription to Anti-Christs Weekly.

I thought there was only supposed to be one Anti-Christ, and only in the present or future.

Further response:  Nostradamus can be read many many different ways, but even those who believe he predicted many things don't say that he explained why.  That is, his prophecies said, if they did, that Napoleon was an anti-Christ, but didn't say "why."
