I compared these two because they have around the same population NYC has a bit higher and same size London is a bit bigger so around the same pollution etc

BUT

London is at a higher latitude higher than the whole of the USA. But we only have one day of snow which vanishes by the next day. We are at the same latitude as Canada which I always see as being in winter but here Ive hardly seen snow in my whole life why is this. Is is because we are surround by sea.

If im right we are not too far from the north pole

  1. We have the Gulf Stream bringing warm water up from the Caribbean.

  2. north atlantic current.

  3. A large part of the reason is that, due to the earth's rotation and thus its prevailing winds, the westernmost area of any given continent enjoys warmer weather in winter than its eastern counterpart, even at the same latitudes.

  4. Because of more of the ocean all round, that modifies the climate.

  5. meteorology (weather) is extremely complex and I'm no expert but other things to consider are the jet stream, gulf stream, altitude, wind current, surrounding landscape, air pressure convetion currents and countles other factors

  6. bcause NYC is norther than Londan and NYC is faced the way to the sun more then Londan

  7. its because of the Gulf Stream, it runs along the Atlantic coast and warms the ocean, when the Gulf Stream changes course, which it does now and again, we get a very cold winter.

  8. I say just click your heels three times and wish for snow.
