Why is New York the only big city that never get to host the Olympics?

It ranks as Paris, London, Tokyo etc...but never?

  1. Have you seen New York there is no room for anything else there.


  2. Because it would take too long to clean up all the hot dog wrappers and milkshake cartons littered across the city. You're only told you've been chosen to host the Olympics 8 years in advance which is not nearly enough time.

    They should have the Olympics in New York. It really is a beautiful city and state, and has many many many different cultures within the city.

  4. The IOC was all ready to give them the Olympic bid in 76', 58', and 24' but each time they responded "Fuggeddaboudid"

  5. They could have gotten Olympics longer ago but they didn't.

    One reason is they haven't bid on it. To get the Olympics, a city has to make a bid many years in advance, and be narrowed down to one of a few finalists, and they have to give the IOC lots of reasons why they would host a great Olympics.

    I can think of one reason why NYC might not host such a great Olympics: traffic. I don't think NYC is capable of handling such a huge influx of people that the Olympics brings. Los Angeles was more spread out and could handle it.


  6. I'm from NY... tell me, where on earth is there room in NY for all of the arenas that would need to be built?  Also... the Winter Olympics have been in New York, a couple times... not NYC though, upstate..

  7. Think about it.. is there any space to build everything needed for the olympics?? Dont think so

  9. Not sure, but perhaps they don't have the room to build an Olympic stadium.  

  10. where are you going to find the room for everything, unless you put everything in new jersey sence nobody lives there

  11. Neither has Shanghai, Osaka, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aries, Dehli, Cairo, or Kolkata.  

  12. New York is the most crowded city in the world.  there isn't any space to build an olympic stadium, and there are too many people in New York.  

  13. Years ago I saw a rendering of the stadiums and the Olympic village place right in the harbors of new york....seriously, there is no room
