There is an uproar over Obama's tour of the Middle East and Europe. He is highly popular in Europe and huge crowds are expected to see him. Many Media columnists and TV programs have criticized this trip, saying that "Obama is acting too presidential," that he is only a nominee and should not cater to European crowds.
However, his opponent, John McCain has traveled outside the U.S. many times. He has visited Columbia, Mexico and Canada, as well as visiting in Iraq. There was no criticism of John McCain for the time he spent out of the country, no accusations of him acting "too Presidential."
My question is...why should it be okay for McCain to travel outside the U.S., while Obama is criticized for doing the very thing that McCain taunted him about? If Obama is more popular in Europe than McCain, should this hamper his freedom to talk to foreign leaders, just as McCain has done? Do you think that Obama should stay in our country, despite the fact that McCain has traveled abroad?
